Close OT win caps a back and forth game

State playoffs kicked off Feb 3 at Cottonwood with an exciting game between the WMAHA Jr Grizzlies and Team NW Regulators.  The Jr Grizzlies Bantams had great support from many parents, friends, and family throughout the organization.  Thanks for all your support and come out to all the Jr Grizzlies games this weekend during the state playoffs.  Both our U14 and U16 teams are competing.  The U12 team is unopposed, and will enjoy the weekend off as they prepare for the u12 National tournament in San Jose.

The Jr Grizzlies started out strong with constant pressure on Regulators goalie Garrett Metcalf, who had a spectacular game.  Despite the strong attack and pressure on the Regulators the Grizzlies consistently found themselves playing catch up.
The Regulators started out the scoring at 8:15 remaining in the first period, and the Grizzlies came back with a lot of energy.  Luke Goeders answered with a goal at 7:03 remaining in the first with an assist from Matt Psaras.
The Regulators went up again at 7:52 remaining in the 2nd period.  Once again at strong Jr Grizzly response answered with a hard working goal by Sheamus Stoyle just 49 seconds later at 7:03 remaining.
The game remained deadlocked through the third and until 31 seconds remained in overtime. Good backchecking pressure from Matt Psaras created a turnover high in our defensive zone that turned into a fast transition by the Jr Grizzly offense with Stan Memmott grabbing the loose puck.  He took the puck 2/3 of the way up the ice and beat the Regulators goalie low stick side for the OT Game winner.
